Your first appointment with me

All appointments are scheduled by advance booking through my secure online booking system, Fresha. Upon booking, you will be redirected to the Fresha platform, where you can view my availability. You will need to create an account and register a payment card; however, please note that payment will not be processed upfront and will only be collected after your treatment is completed.

When booking your first treatment, you will receive a link to an online form requesting some basic information, including the reason for your visit. This allows time to focus more on your health and well-being consultation and treatment time.

Upon arrival, please park in the designated parking area in front of Pelican House. If this area is busy, additional parking is available to the right of Tait’s Printers. Once parked, please head to the left side of Pelican House (when facing the building) and ring the doorbell marked with number 3.

I will greet you and show you to my therapy room, where we will begin your consultation.
I believe it is essential to spend time in person discussing your reasons for seeking treatment, as this helps build trust and provides an opportunity for you to express any concerns or ask questions. It also allows me to better understand your needs. If you have a detailed medical history, I recommend emailing this information ahead of time or including it in the online form so I can review and prepare accordingly.

During the consultation, I will outline your treatment plan and explain what to expect. I may perform assessments to evaluate your range of movement and identify any physical imbalances in your body, both before and after the treatment.
At the end of your session, I may provide rehabilitative exercises for you to practice at home, supporting your healing process.

A toilet facility and fresh drinking water are available for your convenience.
Between clients, I ensure the massage couch is thoroughly cleaned and replaced with fresh linens.

Myofascial Release and Fascia bodywork

As part of and before the treatment begins, I will work with you to find an embodied resource which will allow you to feel grounded, safe and able to recognise changes that happen within your fascial system. This is a very profound way of working and can be extremely effective for those that are suffering with chronic pain, emotional suffering and restricted mobility. For you to receive the very best from this treatment it is important that we work together. I will encourage you to feel into your system whilst I am holding position, which can be some time – quite often the longer the hold the better results. With guidance I will enable you to describe any sensations that you are feeling which can be a physical sensation directly where I am working or elsewhere in your body which is perfectly normal – the system is one continuous tissue so where one restriction is held it can often lead onto another area of restriction. I will communicate with you throughout your treatment to ensure you feel resourced should any feelings of discomfort arise. This is not at all painful, but your body can experience many different sensations, emotions and areas of restriction that can emerge throughout treatment. Often when releasing one area of tension / restriction another area can present itself which is why communication is important. If you have any questions about this aspect of my work, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
