Bonnie O'Brien Bodywork Therapy in Andover

About me

Bonnie O'Brien, massage therapist and bodywork specialist in Andover

Hello, my name is Bonnie — welcome. I’m a Massage and Bodywork Therapist based in Andover, Hampshire, specialising in Fascia-Focused Therapy and trauma-informed bodywork.

I'm also a mum of boys and live a busy, active life — but I always make time for myself, and I believe that’s essential to health and wellbeing.

Before having children, I ran a successful restaurant where I took great pride in creating a high-quality experience. We were award-winning and known for our service and care — values I carry into my bodywork practice today. But it was becoming a mother that truly changed my path.

My personal journey into bodywork

Like many of the clients I now work with, I’ve lived with long-held tension and patterns that I didn’t fully understand. I experienced trauma in childhood, and it continued into adulthood — shaping how I held myself and how I felt in my body.

It wasn’t until I began training in trauma-aware and fascia-focused therapies that I truly recognised what I had been carrying. My body had found ways to protect me — tightening, bracing, holding on — and I didn’t even realise how much until I began this deeper work.

Becoming a parent brought these patterns to the surface. It was a turning point that not only led me toward healing myself, but also ignited a deep calling to help others feel safe in their own bodies.

Professional training and approach

I began my bodywork training in 2018 with the School of Bodywork in Exeter. Since then, I’ve trained in a wide range of therapies including:

Swedish and Deep Tissue Massage

Fascia Informed Bodywork

Pregnancy Massage

Women’s Health & Scar Tissue Release

Advanced Level 4 Remedial Massage

Oncology Massage

In 2021, I began training with Emma Gilmore — a leader in Trauma-Informed Fascia Therapy — and graduated with distinction in 2023. I’m currently continuing advanced fascia studies and I’m currently continuing advanced fascia studies and am keeping up to date with current research and skills.

Fascia holds our physical structure together, but it also holds our stories — every injury, every overwhelm, every moment we’ve had to “just keep going.” Over time, this creates tension and imbalance that can affect not only our body, but our emotional and mental wellbeing.

How I work

My approach is gentle, respectful, and rooted in deep listening. I don’t force the body; I work with it. By meeting the nervous system with care, we invite it to feel safe — and that’s where true change begins.

I help people with:

Chronic pain and postural imbalance

Stress, burnout, and nervous system dysregulation

Tension headaches and sleep issues

Long-held trauma or emotional overwhelm

Clients often say they feel seen, heard, and deeply restored after a session — and that means everything to me.

A space for your healing

If you’re ready to explore your own healing journey — whether physical, emotional, or both — I’d be honoured to support you. You’re welcome just as you are.

I’m accredited by the Association of Physical & Natural Therapists (APNT), ThinkTree Hub, a registered practitioner with the British Complementary Medicine Association (BCMA) and a member of The Fascia Hub.
