Specialist Massage Therapy To Support Those Living With Cancer
This treatment is designed with care, sensitivity, and a deep understanding that you are far more than your diagnosis - you are a whole person with your own daily life, relationships, work, hopes, and challenges.

Massage therapy can play a valuable role in the care of people with cancer. Research has shown that massage can help ease some of the physical and emotional side effects of both cancer itself and its treatments. Evidence suggests that massage may help reduce pain, fatigue, nausea, anxiety, and depression. It can also improve sleep, promote relaxation, and enhance overall wellbeing - important factors that can contribute positively to your quality of life.
My Approach

I treat the person, not the disease. Every session is tailored to meet your individual needs on the day you come to me. Some days you may want a calming, gentle touch to help you relax. Other days, you may need focused work to ease muscular discomfort or help with side effects such as joint stiffness, swelling, or neuropathy. We always work together to find what feels right for you.
You are not defined by cancer. You may be managing family life, work pressures, or everyday stresses alongside treatment or recovery. My approach acknowledges the fullness of your experience - your ambitions, your worries, your hopes - and supports you wherever you are on your journey.
Massage After Cancer
Massage therapy can continue to be beneficial long after active treatment ends. Even in survivorship, many people experience ongoing effects such as fatigue, lymphoedema, scarring, emotional changes, and general physical tension. Massage can help support the body’s recovery, improve mobility, ease discomfort, and provide an important space for emotional healing. Whether you are rebuilding strength, navigating a new normal, or simply needing time for yourself, massage can be an empowering part of your post-cancer care.
Safety and sensitivity are at the heart of what I do. I have specialist training in oncology massage, understanding how cancer and its treatments can affect the body. I adapt every aspect of the massage - from positioning and pressure to duration - to ensure that your treatment is safe, comfortable, and supportive.
Whether you are currently undergoing treatment, are in recovery, or living with cancer long-term, massage therapy offers you a nurturing space to simply be - to breathe, rest, and reconnect with your body in a positive way.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is it safe to have massage during cancer treatment?
Yes, when provided by a therapist trained in oncology massage, massage is safe during cancer treatment. Sessions are always tailored to your specific needs and medical situation. I will adapt positioning, techniques, and pressure to ensure comfort and safety.
Will massage spread cancer?
No, massage does not cause cancer to spread. This is a myth that has been disproven by modern research. However, certain techniques may be modified to suit your health and treatment plan.
What if I have medical devices, scars, or sensitive areas?
I am trained to work safely around ports, PICC lines, scars, lymph node removal sites, and areas affected by surgery or radiation. All adjustments will be discussed with you beforehand, ensuring that you feel secure and always respected.
Do I need permission from my doctor?
Depending on your situation, I may request consent from your medical team before beginning massage therapy, especially if you are currently undergoing treatment. This ensures your safety, and that massage is fully supportive of your healthcare.
Can massage help after cancer treatment has finished?
Absolutely. Many people continue to benefit from massage after treatment ends, whether to ease residual side effects, manage emotional wellbeing, or support overall recovery.
