Support for Every Stage of Pregnancy

Pregnancy is a time of immense physical and emotional change. Your hormones shift significantly to create the right environment for your baby’s development, and almost every part of your body adapts to accommodate their growth.
Alongside these physical changes, you may also be navigating emotional stressors — whether it’s your first pregnancy, a history of miscarriage, lengthy IVF, or the anticipation of introducing a new baby into your existing family. All of these experiences are completely normal, but that doesn’t mean you wouldn’t benefit from some gentle, tailored support.

My Approach

No two pregnancies are the same — and no two massages are either. Each treatment is specifically tailored to how you're feeling on the day.
You’ll lie on your side, fully supported by as many pillows as you need, and covered with towels for comfort and privacy throughout the session. I offer 60- or 90-minute treatments that can include a full-body massage or focus on specific areas where you’re experiencing discomfort.

The Benefits of Pregnancy Massage

Massage during pregnancy has been shown to offer a wide range of physical and emotional benefits. Research supports that it can:
-
Help you and your baby relax
-
Ease common discomforts such as backache, leg cramps, and swollen ankles
-
Improve mood, reduce anxiety, and lower the risk of complications during pregnancy and birth
Whether you're looking for relief from physical symptoms or simply time to rest and reconnect with your body, massage offers a gentle and nurturing way to support yourself during this important time.

Are There Any Restrictions on Massage During Pregnancy?

Massage during a healthy, uncomplicated pregnancy is both safe and beneficial. In fact, both the NHS and the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists recommend massage to help manage pregnancy-related back pain.
If you’ve experienced complications during this or a previous pregnancy, massage may still be suitable — but it’s important to check in first. I’m always happy to discuss any concerns with you before booking, and I recommend speaking with your midwife before starting any complementary therapy.
Although there’s no evidence that massage in the first trimester is harmful, I generally prefer to begin treatments from the second trimester onward. However, if you're experiencing a specific issue earlier, you're welcome to get in touch and we can discuss the best approach.
Massage is safe right up to full term — the latest I’ve treated someone was at 41 weeks pregnant.
Postnatal Massage: Support After Birth

Massage during the postnatal period is just as important and supportive as during pregnancy. In the early weeks, gentle massage can:
-
Help the uterus return to its pre-pregnancy size
-
Relieve muscular tension from feeding and carrying your baby
-
Restore balance and ease discomfort after childbirth
-
Reduce stress and support emotional recovery
-
Lower the risk of postnatal depression
Massage can be safely received within days of giving birth, as long as you feel ready. Sessions are adapted to your needs and carried out in whatever position feels most comfortable and secure for you.

C-Section Recovery and Scar Support

If you’ve had a Caesarean birth, I offer gentle, trauma-informed treatments to support scar recovery and emotional wellbeing.
Using specialist myofascial release techniques, I can help reduce tightness and improve the feel, mobility, and hydration of the scar and surrounding tissues. This may also support emotional processing, as scars often hold both physical and emotional tension.
I’ve completed training in women’s health and scar tissue relief, developed by Emma Gilmour, a leader in trauma-informed bodywork. These techniques are always applied with sensitivity, at a pace that feels safe and supportive to you.
You can read more about scar tissue therapy here.
