A gentle and powerful approach to lasting change

For many clients who feel they’ve tried everything, Myofascial Release offers welcome relief from pain and discomfort.

While training in fascia-focused bodywork and integrating it into my practice, one of the most powerful lessons I’ve learned is how the body often responds more deeply and willingly to gentle, informed touch. This subtle approach encourages lasting change.

My Approach

During treatment, no oils are used. My hands are placed directly on your skin to apply gentle, sustained pressure into the tissues. I work with the body’s fascial network to identify and release restrictions, allowing for more space, better energy flow, and a deeper sense of connection to your body.

How Does It Work?

My aim is to treat pain and immobility at their root, not just manage symptoms. By addressing the underlying restrictions, we can restore health and function throughout the whole system.

When the body feels safe, tissues begin to release and unwind. Clients often experience sensations such as warmth, tingling, spaciousness, or even emotion, as fascia holds both physical and emotional memory. Many find that, over the course of a session, they naturally drop into a deeply restful state.

What to expect

Your first session will include a full consultation and assessment. Together, we’ll develop a treatment plan tailored to your needs.

Common conditions Myofascial Release can support

Myofascial Release can be beneficial for a wide range of physical and emotional issues. Some of the more common reasons people seek this treatment include:

  • Chronic pain

  • Fibromyalgia

  • Multiple sclerosis (MS)

  • Neuralgia and nerve-related discomfort

  • Chronic fatigue

  • Postural imbalances

  • Headaches and migraines

  • Jaw tension (TMJ)

  • Back, neck, and shoulder pain

  • Pelvic pain and dysfunction

  • Post-surgical scar tissue and adhesions

  • Emotional trauma held in the body

  • Stress and anxiety

  • Sleep disturbances

  • Digestive tension or dysfunction

What is fascia?

Fascia is a connective tissue that forms a three-dimensional web running continuously throughout your entire body—from head to toe. It surrounds every structure: muscles, bones, organs, nerves, and blood vessels.

This tissue is responsive to everything we experience—stress, injury, surgery, emotional overwhelm, and more including as far back as your embryological beginnings. Over time, these experiences can cause fascia to become restricted or bound, reducing mobility, disrupting energy flow, and creating tension or pain.

Because the fascial system is so interconnected, restrictions in one area may lead to symptoms in another. This can result in misalignment, chronic discomfort, or a general sense of imbalance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to have an injury or pain to benefit from treatment?
Not at all. These treatments support overall wellbeing and can help with stress relief, improved body awareness, and emotional processing, even if you’re not in pain.

What should I wear to my appointment?
Please wear loose, comfortable clothing. Myofascial Release is typically performed directly on the skin without the use of oils, so you may be asked to remove certain layers depending on the area being treated. Towels and draping are always used to ensure your comfort.

Is Myofascial Release painful?
No. MFR uses sustained, gentle pressure, and while some areas may feel tender or sensitive, the treatment is never forceful. Many clients describe it as deeply relaxing, and some even feel a sense of emotional release as tension softens.

How will I feel after a session?
Clients often feel lighter, more mobile, and deeply relaxed. Some may feel emotional or tired as the body processes the changes. Drinking water and allowing time for rest or gentle movement after your session is recommended.

How many sessions will I need?
This varies. Some clients feel significant changes after just one or two treatments. Others with chronic or complex issues may benefit from a course of sessions to allow the body to unwind layer by layer. We’ll discuss a personalised plan during your initial consultation.

Is Myofascial Release suitable if I have a medical condition?
In many cases, yes. MFR is gentle and non-invasive, making it suitable for people with conditions like fibromyalgia, MS, and chronic fatigue. However, please mention any health concerns when booking so we can ensure the treatment is appropriate and safe for you.

Can Myofascial Release help with emotional issues?
Yes. Fascia stores not just physical tension but emotional memory too. It’s not uncommon for people to experience emotional release during or after treatment. You’ll always be supported in a calm, grounded space, and we will work at a pace that feels safe for you.

What is the difference between Myofascial Release and massage?
Unlike traditional massage, MFR does not use oil or fast strokes. It involves slow, sustained pressure into the fascial tissues, allowing deeper release without forcing the body. It works with the body rather than on it.
